Begin by following these procedures:
Fan Rear Cover Bearing Plate and Drum Top Panel Motor - (The motor does not need to be completely removed, but just placed off to the side to allow easier routing of the heating element's wires. Use caution so as not to damage the motor's leads wires)
1
Cut the two wire tie wraps that secure the wires in a bundle over the main circuit board
2
Remove the two heating element wires. These are red in color as indicated here. Use needle nose pliers and grasp only the connector and not the wires. Make note of the routing of the wires and carefully pull them up though the panel through which they are routed.
3
Remove the two Phillips head screws inside the roasting chamber that secure the heating element. Pull the heating element out through the roasting chamber. While doing this, use your other hand (or an assistant) to carefully guide the wires through the holes in the roasting chamber's rear wall.
4
To replace the heating element, be sure to carefully guide the wires through the holes in the roasting chamber (shown here) and through the panel towards the main circuit board, avoiding damage to the heat-resistant covers on the wires. Install the two screws that hold the heating element in place, and when you are sure that the wires are correctly routed, tighten the two screws Do not over-tighten!
5
Attach the wires to the main circuit board. The needle nose pliers are quite handy for that task. Reinstall the motor if it was removed. Be sure that the heating element wires are correctly routed and not pinched before you torque the motor screws into place. Gather the wires and reinstall two new tie wraps on the wire bundle over the main circuit board (not supplied).
